Pfeiffer University Presents 2012 Starnes Awards to Exemplary Faculty and Staff
Pfeiffer University has awarded its 2012 Starnes Awards for Outstanding Achievement to Dr. Patrick Malloy, assistant professor of accounting, and Rebecca Treece Hraczo, coordinator of international students and scholar services and assistant director of study abroad.
Dr. Anne Murray of Pfeiffer University Named Fulbright Award Recipient
Anne Murray, PHR, Ph.D., of Winston-Salem, N.C., a professor in Pfeiffer University’s master of science in Leadership program, has received a Fulbright award to teach in Romania for the 2012-13 academic year.
Dr. Murray, who has taught at Pfeiffer since 1999, primarily at its Charlotte campus and online, will likely teach Organizational Behavior and Human Resources, subjects she teaches at Pfeiffer, at the College of Communication and Public Relations in the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration in Bucharest. Her intent is to teach American approaches to these subjects while comparing and contrasting them to approaches of the European Union.
Pfeiffer University Awards 2012 Heart of Grace Awards for Community Service and Global Humanitarian Efforts
Today, Pfeiffer University’s awarded its 2012 Heart of Grace Awards for community service and global humanitarianism at its Charlotte campus as part of the Heart of Grace Symposium and Awards, an annual event that celebrates the personal, professional and service achievements of local women.

to Receive Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts
Dr. Michael Brown, senior minister, Marble Collegiate Church in New York City, is scheduled to give the 2012 spring commencement address at Pfeiffer University’s Misenheimer campus on Sat., May 12, 10:30 a.m.
Dr. Brown, a native of Asheboro, graduated from High Point University and Duke Divinity School and received his doctorate of ministry from Drew Theological Seminary. Prior to joining Marble Collegiate, the church served for 52 years by Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, he was senior minister to the 4,000-member Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston Salem. He has taught ethics at the College for Seniors at UNC-Asheville, New Testament at High Point University and congregational change at Wake Forest University Divinity School. He is the author of six books and a contributor to 11 others, and awaits publication of two more, Making the Timeless Word Timely and Love Your Way to Happiness. In 1995, he was included in the Great American Preachers book series.

Pfeiffer University has been named to the 2012 President's Higher Education Honor Roll by the Corporation for National and Community Service for its commitment to and demonstration of exemplary, innovative and effective community service programs. Pfeiffer has earned this distinction every year since the designation’s inception in 2006.
